| Total geographical area of Jhalawar district is 6.62 lac hectare, out of which 4.87 lac hectare is suitable for agriculture and farming activities. 66700 M Cft water is available for irrigation, which can pour 2.7 lac hectare land with water for irrigation purpose. |
| In pre-independence time, there were 13 dams, which used 741 M Cft water to irrigate 3103 hectares. Now-a-days there are total 35 (4 medium & 31 Minor) irrigation projects/dams, which utilize 9677 M Cft water to irrigate 49842 hectares of CCA out of which 8674 hectares lies in Kota District. |
| Presently
there are 4 medium irrigation projects, 3 water-upliftment irrigation
projects, 31 small irrigation projects and 13 old dams in the district
for the irrigation purpose. |
